Pride Enhancement Peer Tutoring Program
The Pride Enhancement Peer Tutoring Program provides Hofstra’s student-athletes with individual, group, and open tutoring sessions. Student-athletes are eligible to work as peer tutors in the Fried Center to support their fellow student-athletes and guide them towards success in the classroom. Requirements to work as a peer tutor are:
• Matriculated undergraduate students.
• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher.
• Have secured two faculty recommendations.
• Have received a B+ or higher in chosen courses.
• Are available the whole semester.
Graduate student-athletes can also work as graduate monitors in the Fried Center that monitor study hall hours from 5-8 p.m. every Sunday evening. Requirements to work as a graduate monitor are the same requirements as for the peer tutors, yet this student-athlete must be a graduate student.
