Biography

Fourth season on the Hofstra Softball roster...Should be a key member of the Pride line-up while continuing in her role as the starting left fielder.

2008: Appeared in 53 games, including 42 starts...Batted .290 on the season with a homer and 16 RBI...Batted .339 with six RBI in conference games...Was 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI in a win over Charlotte...Batted 2-for-2 with a double in the first game of the Georgia State series...Had three straight multi-hit games in May, including the final two regular season games against George Mason and the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Towson...Also was 2-for-3 with an RBI in a road win over St. John's...Was 1-for-3 with an RBI in a win over #13 Baylor.

2007: Appeared in 52 games, including 43 starts...Batted .252 with three homers and 22 RBI...Hit .309 with one homer and 14 RBI in conference games...Hit two of her three homers in the NCAA Regionals, including a dramatic solo shot with two outs in the seventh inning to tie the score and force extra innings in a 3-2, nine-inning win over Harvard...Also had a solo shot in a loss to Baylor, cutting Baylor's lead to 3-1 at the time...Batted 2-for-3 with two RBI in a 3-0 win over James Madison...Had an RBI in a key 3-2 extra inning win over nationally ranked North Carolina State...Homered in the second game of the Delaware series...Had a triple and three RBI in a win over Drexel...Hit 2-for-3 in a loss to North Carolina in the championship game of the Adidas Invitational...Batted 4-for-9 with three RBI in the George Mason series...Drove in a pair of runs in a home win over Rutgers.

2006: Appeared in 14 games in the pitching circle, including 10 starts...Also made 11 starts in the batting order...Battled an injury which kept her out of the pitching circle for a span of nearly one month (March 11 ? April 9)...Tallied a 5-2 record, a 2.62 ERA and a save in the circle...Batted .184 with two homers and six RBI at the plate...Pitching losses came against NCAA qualifiers Georgia Tech and Tennessee...Allowed only one earned run on seven hits against Georgia Tech and allowed three hits in 3.2 innings against Tennessee...Threw four innings, allowing three hits, in her collegiate pitching debut to get the win over Florida A&M...Allowed two hits in six innings to combine on a shutout in a 2-0 win over Illinois-Chicago...Picked up the save with two perfect innings of relief in a 4-2 CAA win over James Madison...Allowed two hits over four innings to get the win over Connecticut...Homered in a win over St. John's...Also hit a three-run homer in a 4-3 loss to Wagner.

High School: Played four seasons at Hamilton West High School, earning four first place finishes in conference play...Helped the Hornets to a runner-up finish in the state tournament as a sophomore...Was named the Hamilton West Student-Athlete of the Year and the CVC player of the year as a senior, when she was also chosen first-team All-New Jersey by the Star Ledger...Finished with 1084 career strikeouts, becoming the fifth player in New Jersey history to strike out 1000 career batters...Nominated for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award...Set a state record with 30 strikeouts in a 13-inning state tournament game...Had 310 strikeouts as both a sophomore and junior and added 283 as a senior...Had 16 shutouts as a junior...Tallied four no-hitters and 14 shutouts as a sophomore...Had 10 shutouts as a freshman...Also batted .515 as a senior at the plate...Three-time all-state selection...Also played on the Hamilton West field hockey and basketball teams.

Personal: Nicknamed "Hodgee"...Born Feb. 7, 1987...Started playing softball at age six...Played summer ball with the Jersey Inferno Gold...Hobbies include writing poetry and drawing...Majoring in speech, language and hearing sciences...Aspires to be a speech therapist...Lists Lisa Fernandez and Jennie Finch as her favorite athletes...Has one sister...Also recruited by Seton Hall, UConn, Rutgers and Delaware.
