Hempstead, NY – In the opening game of the Coastal Athletic Association schedule for the Hofstra field hockey team, the Pride suffered a 5-0 home loss to Northeastern from Cindy Lewis Stadium. Hofstra now sits at 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the CAA, and Northeastern moves to 2-4 overall and 1-0 in league play.
Northeastern scored three goals across the first three quarters before finding the back of the net twice in the fourth quarter to secure the conference win.
Luci Hollister made a season-high nine saves in 56:47 of action, while
Tessa Lambright played out the final 3:13 between the posts.
Hofstra travels to Philadelphia for its next contest against Temple on Sunday, September 20, at 12 p.m.

-Hofstra was outshot 19-8 by Northeastern.
Cara Zapach led all players with five total shots.
