Hempstead, NY – After scoring both goals in the Hofstra field hockey team's 2-1 win over Rider this past Friday,
Malena Bertone has been honored as the Coastal Athletic Association Rookie of the Week.
A first-year defender from Santa Fe, Argentina, Bertone notched the first goal of her career on a penalty corner attempt in the second quarter to even the score at 1-1 against the Broncs, and her second tally of the contest came five minutes into the start of the fourth quarter to put the Pride ahead for good.
Bertone and the Pride head to Staten Island on Friday for a 3 p.m. matchup against Wagner.
