Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra field hockey program kicks off its 2026 season with two consecutive contests from Cindy Lewis Stadium, as the Pride opens the season on Friday against Rider at 3 p.m., followed by a Sunday meeting against Bryant at 1 p.m.

Gwenn van Dijk and
Kelly Levengood will lead a Pride offense that ranked as one of the best in the CAA last season. Including Hollister, van Dijk, and Levengood, 14 members of the Pride return for the 2026 season and 12 newcomers join the squad, including fifth-year senior transfers
Juana Laskowski and
Victoria Nazar from LIU and senior transfer
Sarah Smalley from Syracuse.
Rider finished last season 8-10 and ended its season with a 2-0 defeat to CAA-newcomers Fairfield in the semifinals of the NEC Tournament. Hofstra, who defeated the Broncs 3-2 in a shootout in last season's meeting on September 5, hold a 16-17 all-time record against Rider.
Bryant opens its 2026 schedule on Friday against Quinnipiac before facing Hofstra on Sunday. The Bulldogs went 4-14 in 2025, including a 2-1 double overtime loss against the Pride on September 7. The all-time record stands at 4-2 in favor of Hofstra.
