Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Volleyball team will get the 2026 campaign underway on Saturday when the Pride begins play at the Penn State Invitational. 

Hofstra will open the season on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. when it takes on High Point. The Pride will then play a pair of matches on Sunday as they will face Connecticut at 12 p.m. before closing the tournament with a 6 p.m. match against #10 Penn State.

Hofstra is coming off a 22-4 season in 2025 as the Pride was the CAA Co-Regular Season Champion and advanced to the CAA Championship match. The Pride was picked second in the preseason CAA coaches poll with Beatriz Braga being named the CAA Preseason Player of the Year as well as earning a spot on the Preseason All-CAA Team. Joining her on the preseason squad was Constanza Perez Sain. 

Hofstra is 1-0 all-time against High Point, 8-1 against Connecticut, and 0-8 versus Penn State. The only previous meeting with High Point was a five-set neutral site win in 2010, the most recent meeting with Connecticut was a four-set road win in 2023, and Hofstra last faced Penn State in 2019 and dropped a three-set road decision to then-#8 Nittany Lions.
