26MSOC Bucknell Preview

No. 20 Hofstra Opens 2026 Season Thursday At Bucknell

| By:
Hempstead, NY - The 20th-ranked Hofstra men's soccer team will open the 2026 campaign Thursday night at Bucknell with a 7:30 p.m. start in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+. Live statistics will also be provided. Links for both can be found above or on the men's soccer schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra is coming off a third round NCAA appearance in 2025, posting a 14-5-1 record. However, just six players return from that squad and only two saw any game action. Leading the way is defender Pietro Santi, who was selected CAA Preseason Player of the Year. Junior Charlie Blair saw limited action last season, while returnees Anthony Grodzki, Aidan GaNun, Dylan Wauchope, and Konstantinos Karageorgis were redshirts in 2025.

First year Head Coach Stephen Roche did bring in 21 new players - a mix of transfers and first-time collegiate players - to bolster the roster.

Bucknell was 9-4-5 last season. The series between the two schools is tied at 4-4-0. The Bison have won the last two meetings, including a 2-1 win in the 2025 season opener at Captains Field.

Following Thursday's game, Hofstra will return to action Sunday night, August 23,  at 6 p.m. when it hosts American at Captains Field.
