Hempstead, NY – In announcement by the Coastal Athletic Association on Thursday, three members of the Hofstra field hockey team have received preseason all-conference honors. Sophomore
Luci Hollister was named to the Preseason All-CAA team, and sophomore
Gwenn van Dijk and senior
Kelly Levengood received spots on the honorable mention team.
A sophomore netminder, Hollister earned CAA All-Rookie Team honors last season after posting 90 saves, a 2.12 Goals Against Average, and a .720 save percentage in 17 games played while going 8-8 between the posts. A 16-game starter for the Pride in 2025, Hollister ranked third in the CAA in saves and fourth in Goals Against Average and save percentage. She was named to the CAA All-Tournament Team after posting eight saves against Monmouth in the 2025 CAA Championship.
van Dijk broke out in 2025 with a team-leading 10 assists plus three goals for 16 points in 18 games, earning herself All-CAA Second Team and All-Rookie recognition. The sophomore midfielder ranked fourth in the CAA in assists and assists per game (0.56), and her 0.56 assists per game ranked van Dijk 31st in the country and fourth in the country among Division I freshmen.
The senior Levengood finished last season fourth on the team with eight points on four goals in 18 games. After scoring in the Pride's season-opener on August 29 against UAlbany, Levengood scored three goals in the month of October, including the opener against William & Mary on October 24 as wins over the Tribe and Towson helped Hofstra qualify for the CAA Championship for the first time since 2015.
In addition to the Preseason All-CAA and honorable mention teams, the CAA announced the results of its Preseason Coaches Poll. The Pride were picked to finish sixth out of seven teams with 19 points.
Hofstra's 2026 season opens on August 28 at 3 p.m. against Rider in the first of back-to-back home games.
