Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's tennis team's success in the classroom resulted in five student-athletes earning ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades and the program claiming All-Academic Team honors. In all, 1,008 Division I Men's student-athletes were named ITA Scholar Athletes, and 162 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Earning ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades were:
Amir Albeg,
Samarth Deepudass,
Eñaut Garcia,
Jacob Anthony Maravillas, and
Hideki Matsuoka. Matsuoka earned his fourth ITA Scholar-Athlete honor, while Garcia picked up his second. Albeg, Deepudass, and Maravillas all earned the award for the first time in their Hofstra careers.
To be recognized as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year. Programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale) to receive ITA All-Academic Team honors.Â
Hofstra posted a 3.42 grade point average for the 2025-26 academic year.Â
