Successful Day For Hofstra Women In New York and New Jersey

Uniondale, NY / Princeton, NJ - The Hofstra women's outdoor track and field team had multiple personal best performances at the Alex Masai Invitational in Uniondale, New York, and Isabella Spagnoli earned a 6th place finish with her 10:31.06 time in the 3000m steeplechase at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational.

Spagnoli's personal best performance at the Larry Ellis Invitational is also a conference best time in the 3000m steeplechase. The Pride hosted the Alex Masai Invitational from Kellenberg Memorial High School in Uniondale, New York, and swept the intra-team competition in the 1500m, 100m dash, 800m, 3200m, and 4x400m relay.

Tori Bien was the 1500m champion with a personal best 5:04.31 time, while Natalie Campisi was second at 5:10.98. Brielle Isernia finished third at 5:31.89 and Amanda Hinojos was in fifth place with a time of 6:05.19. Lilian Brine led the Pride in the 100m dash with a 13.41 time and first place finish. Jadyn Hsu was second at 13.43, Sharyn-Nicole Thomas finished third at 17.51, and Sarah Purschke finished fourth at 17.55.

Julia Mills was the leader for Hofstra in the 800m with her first place finish and time of 2:31.99. Jordan Slovensky came in second place at 2:35.62, Eva Mathew was third at 2:36.72, and Bien finished in fourth place at 2:45.64. Allison Reid was the 3200m individual champion with her 11:10.59 time, while Sophia Briggs finished second at 11:30.44. Avery Brawner was third at 11:43.98 and Hannah Donzella finished the 3200m race in fourth place at 12:01.78. The Hofstra relay team of Mills, Mathew, Slovensky, and Bien recorded a 4:46.90 time in the 4x400m competition to close out the meet.

Hofstra returns to action on Thursday, May 7, for the West Point Twilight in West Point, New York.
