Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra women's lacrosse team will take on Towson in the semifinals of the CAA Championship on Thursday afternoon. Hofstra is the #2 seed in the championship and Towson is the No. 3 seed.
Opening draw control is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. from LaValle Stadium on the campus of Stony Brook University.

The Pride is looking for its second-ever CAA title this week after previously capturing the championship in 2007. Hofstra will also be looking for its fourth-ever NCAA Tournament appearance after previously qualifying in 2001, 2007, and 2021.
The other semifinal game will see top-seeded Stony Brook face fourth-seeded Elon at 12 p.m. on Thursday. The two semifinal winners will meet on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at LaValle Stadium.
Hofstra returns to the CAA Championship after a one-year absence. The Pride and the Tigers will be meeting in the conference tournament for the first time since a semifinal meeting in 2019. Hofstra won that contest, 11-8, down in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Hofstra finished the regular season with a 10-6 overall record and a CAA mark of 6-1. The Pride heads into the postseason having won five of its last six games. The 10-win season is Hofstra's first since the 2019 team won 12 games. The Pride put the finishing touches on a solid regular season with a 15-2 rout of William & Mary in the regular season finale.
Towson heads into Thursday's meeting with a 7-10 overall record and finished the CAA regular season with a 5-2 mark. The Tigers have won two of their last three and closed the regular season with a 12-11 overtime victory over Monmouth.
Hofstra is 21-27 all-time against Towson. The Pride has won three straight against the Tigers in the series. Hofstra won this season's earlier match-up, 13-10, in Maryland back on March 28. Mennella posted eight points on six goals and two assists in the game, while
Natalie DeMeo (1 G, 3 A) and
Kayleigh Bender (2 G, 2 A) both added four points.
Christine Dannenfelser tallied five ground balls and three caused turnovers in the contest and
Luchianna Cardello made 10 saves in net.
