Uniondale, NY - The Hofstra women's outdoor track and field team had a very successful showing on Friday morning at the Hofstra Invitational with runners from Long Island University. The Pride won all the events they competed in with
Avery Brawner,
Sophia Briggs, Jadyn Hsu, and
Tori Bien leading the charge from Kellenberg Memorial High School in Uniondale, New York.
Brawner set the pace for the meet, starting off with her personal record 5,000m time of 18:45.80. Briggs took first in the 10,000m race with a personal best time of 38:27.24, while
Allison Reid came in second with her own personal best time of 28:52.84. Jadyn Hsu led the pack of Hofstra runners in the 100m dash with her 13.25 personal best time.
Lilian Brine was second at 13.26,
Sarah Purschke in third at 16.90 and
Sharyn-Nicole Thomas was fourth at 17.84. Bien was first in the 800m race with her time of 2:28.41.
Julia Mills was second at 2:33.53.
Jordan Slovensky and
Eva Mathew recorded personal best times of 2:37:12 and 2:37.18 to finish in third and fourth place.
Amanda Hinojos finished in fifth at 2:49.49.
Seniors
Samantha Szabo,
Tori Bien, and
Allison Reid were honored prior to the meet.
The Hofstra women's outdoor track and field team return to action on Thursday, April 23 for the Penn Relays.
