West Long Branch, NJ - Hofstra dropped the series finale at Monmouth Sunday, 19-9. The Pride slipped to 3-10 overall and 2-4 in CAA play with the loss. Monmouth is 8-8 overall and 5-1 in league play.

The Pride took a 7-1 lead in the top of the second inning before the Hawks answered with 10 runs in the bottom of the second to take the lead for good. 

Michael Brown (3) and Nick Gallello (2) had multi-hit games for the Pride. Maddon McArthur (1-1) was tagged with the loss after allowing four runs in ⅓ of an inning in relief of starter Nick Reese. 

Caden Carlin, Monmouth's fourth pitcher of the day, was credited with the win after throwing three scoreless innings. Colin Richter drove in four runs for Monmouth with a second inning grand slam. 

Hofstra returns to action Tuesday at home against New Haven. Game time is 3 p.m.
