Hofstra Hosts Rider In Home Opener

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University baseball team hosts Rider Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference matchup at University Field. First pitch is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. The game will be Hofstra's official home opener, though the Pride were the home team at Charleston this past weekend. 

Wednesday's game will stream on FloCollege with live statistics also provided. Links are on the baseball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra enters the contest with a record of 1-8 overall and are coming off a 1-2 weekend at Charleston in the first CAA series of the season. The Pride will look to pick up a win in their first midweek game of the season. Sean Hamilton will get the start for the Pride.

Rider, which has won 22 of 33 previous meetings against the Pride, is 5-4 overall before a Tuesday game at LIU. 

Following Wednesday's contest, Hofstra returns to action at Monmouth in a Coastal Athletic Association series beginning Friday.
