Staten Island, NY - The Hofstra women's indoor track team competed in the college events at the Fastrack National Invitational on Friday morning from Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York, with women's soccer student-athlete Jadyn Hsu leading the Pride with her fifth-place finish in the 60m hurdles event.
Hsu was the sole competitor for the Pride in the 60m hurdles event and finished with a time of 9.70 to place 5th out of the 29 competitor field. In the shot put event,
Sharyn-Nicole Thomas finished in 20th place out of 44 competitors with a mark of 10.71m, while
Sarah Purschke came in 41st with a throw of 8.16m.
Allison Reid led the Hofstra team in the 3000m with her 10:47.26 finish to take 21st place.
Avery Brawner,
Hannah Donzella, and
Sophia Briggs came in 28th, 29th, and 30th place with times of 11:03.21, 11:04.41, and 11:04.59.
Lilian Brine raced in the 60m dash and finished with a time of 8.49 to take 30th place.
Tori Bien led Hofstra with her 41st place finish and time of 2:26.76 in the 800m run.
Julia Mills was 74th at 2:36.04,
Brielle Isernia was 75th at 2:36.43,
Eva Mathew came in 83rd at 2:39.31,
Amanda Hinojos was 95th at 2:48.21, and
Jordan Slovensky finished 98th with a time of 2:50.29 in the 800m race. In the 4x400m relay event, the Hofstra team (Bien, Isernia, Mills, and Mathew) finished in 16th place at 4:37.35.
The Pride will return to the track on Saturday, February 14, for Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
