Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University sophomore 133-pounder Gauge Shipp has been named the EIWA Wrestler of the Week it was announced today by the conference office. It is the first EIWA Wrestler of the Week Award for Shipp and the first for the Pride since Kyle Mosher on December 24, 2024.

Shipp, a Henderson, Illinois native, went 3-0 on the week with a second period fall over Charlie Pack of LIU, a 5-1 decision over #32 Coleman Nogle of Harvard, and first period fall over Brown's Douglas Shipers. The ranked-win was his second in two weeks.

The team leader in wins with 19, Shipp has won five consecutive matches and seven of his last nine. He will be back in action Wednesday night when Hofstra hosts No. 11 Rutgers at 6 p.m.
