Wilmington, NC - Cruz Davis had 22 points and Preston Edmead added 21 points, but UNCW scored the final six points of the game to defeat the Hofstra men's basketball team, 70-66, on Saturday afternoon at Trask Coliseum. 

It was another chapter in the incredible rivalry between Hofstra and UNCW as the game featured 14 lead changes and 10 tie scores. 

Hofstra saw its four-game win streak come to an end as they dropped to 17-10 overall and 8-6 in CAA play. UNCW improved to 22-4 and 11-2 in the conference. 

Joshua DeCady added 14 points and five rebounds for the Pride, which also got a team-best seven rebounds from Victory Onuetu. 

Patrick Wessler had 18 points and nine rebounds for UNCW, while Christian May added 13 points and seven rebounds.

- Today was the 53rd all-time meeting between Hofstra and UNCW. The Pride leads the series, 28-25. 
- Davis was in double figures for the 26th time this season, while Edmead reached double figures for the 22nd time, and DeCady notched double figures for the seventh time in 2025-26. 
- Davis scored 20 or more for the 15th time and Edmead crossed the 20-point plateau for the seventh time this season.
