Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University men's soccer team will begin its quest for another Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championship Thursday, Nov. 5, when the second-seeded Pride hosts third-seeded Drexel in a CAA North Division Quarterfinal at Captains Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Hofstra enters the postseason with a 9-4-4 overall record and a 4-1-3 mark in CAA play. The Pride finished tied with Stony Brook for first place in the North Division with 15 conference points, but earned the No. 2 seed after Stony Brook won the head-to-head tiebreaker. Drexel finished third in the division with a 7-7-2 overall record and a 3-4-1 conference mark.

Hofstra has won eight CAA men's soccer championships, with titles in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2015, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. The Pride's most recent championship came in 2024, when it defeated UNCW, 1-0, at Captains Field to capture its fourth consecutive conference title. Hofstra has also appeared in the championship game four other times, finishing as runner-up in 2010, 2012, 2018 and 2020.

Drexel also has CAA Championship history, having captured the conference tournament title in 2013. The Dragons reached the semifinals in 2024 before falling to eventual champion UNCW.

The Pride trails in the all-time series between the teams, 26-29-13. Hofstra is 7-1-2 in the last 10 meetings between the programs and went 1-0-1 against the Dragons during the 2026 regular season. The Pride earned a 1-0 victory at Captains Field on Sept. 5 before the teams played to a 1-1 draw in Philadelphia on Oct. 10.

Thursday's contest will stream live on FloCollege and Amazon Prime Video, with live statistics also available. The winner will travel to Stony Brook on Sunday, Nov. 8, for a North Division semifinal. The CAA Championship game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14, with the highest remaining seed hosting.
