Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University men's soccer team continues its quest for another Coastal Athletic Association Championship Sunday, Nov. 8, when the second-seeded Pride travels to top-seeded Stony Brook for a CAA North Division Semifinal matchup at LaValle Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday's contest will be streamed live on FloCollege with live statistics also available.

Hofstra advanced to the semifinals with a 3-2 victory over Drexel in Thursday night's quarterfinal matchup at Captains Field. The Pride jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead behind goals from Joel Bona, Pietro Santi and Lewis Johnson before holding off a late Dragons rally to secure the victory. Goalkeeper Milo Risenhoover made three saves, including a key stop in the 87th minute, as Hofstra improved to 10-4-4 overall. The Pride will look to carry the momentum from Thursday's performance into Sunday's contest as it seeks another appearance in the CAA Championship game.

Stony Brook enters Sunday's matchup with a 9-1-6 overall record and a 4-1-3 mark in CAA play. The Seawolves earned the North Division's top seed after finishing level with Hofstra at 15 conference points, using a 1-0-1 record against the Pride during the regular season to secure the tiebreaker. Stony Brook received a bye into the semifinals after finishing atop the division. The Seawolves have been particularly strong offensively, scoring 37 goals through 16 games. Ryan Farr leads the attack with nine goals and 21 points, while Alex Fleury has added five goals and 14 points. Nelson Reynoso has contributed a team-high 10 assists. Stony Brook has also been strong defensively, allowing just 13 goals this season.

Sunday's contest will mark the third meeting between the programs this season. The teams played to a 1-1 draw in the season opener at LaValle Stadium on Aug. 29 before Stony Brook earned a 3-0 victory at Captains Field on Oct. 3. The Pride holds a 21-14-8 advantage in the all-time series. The Seawolves also eliminated Hofstra from the 2025 CAA Championship, earning a 2-1 victory in the North Division Semifinals at Captains Field.

Hofstra is making its 15th consecutive appearance in the CAA Championship and is seeking its ninth conference tournament title. The Pride has captured eight CAA championships, including four consecutive titles from 2021 through 2024. Hofstra owns a 24-8-6 all-time record in CAA Championship play and will look to continue its postseason success with a victory Sunday. The winner will advance to the CAA Championship game on Saturday, Nov. 14, against the winner of the South Division Semifinal between top-seeded UNCW and No. 3 Charleston.
