Hempstead, NY - A pair of Pride players - Christine Dannenfelser and Nikki Mennella - earned preseason accolades from the league as they garnered spots on the Preseason All-CAA Team. The honors were announced today by the league office. 

Voting for the preseason team and the predicted order of finish is done by the league's head coaches. 

Hofstra was picked fifth in the preseason coaches poll. 

Mennella had a spectacular 2025 campaign as she posted 99 points on 62 goals and 37 assists, while also adding 67 draw controls, eight ground balls, and six caused turnovers. Her points per game average of 6.60 set a new CAA record and incredibly the PPG average was the 11th-best in the history of NCAA Division I lacrosse. She was the CAA Attacker of the Year and an All-CAA First Team pick a season ago. 

Dannenfelser had a tremendous 2025 season for the Pride, totaling 58 draw controls, 42 ground balls, and 24 caused turnovers. She led Hofstra in both ground balls and caused turnovers and ranked second in draw controls. Dannenfelser twice earned CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors this season. She is coming off a season in which she was also named to the All-CAA First Team.
