Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Head Women's Lacrosse Shannon Smith announced today the group that will serve as team captains for the Pride in 2026. 

The trio of captains will be Luchianna Cardello, Christine Dannenfelser, and Nikki Mennella. 

"Luchianna, Christine, and Nikki have each demonstrated exceptional leadership, work ethic, and passion for our program," Smith said. "They embody what it means to be a Pride student-athlete, and I am confident they will guide our team with integrity and determination throughout the 2026 season."

A senior from Massapequa, New York, Cardello has played in 45 career games for the Pride. She is a physical education and health major. 

Dannenfelser, a junior, has appeared in 32 games for Hofstra. A native of Bayport, New York, she is a finance major. 

Mennella, a redshirt junior, has played in 34 games for the Pride. A resident of Smithtown, New York, Mennella is a physical education and health major.
