Preston Edmead had 22 points and a career-high eight rebounds but it wasn't enough as the Hofstra men's basketball team fell on the road to Stony Brook, 76-71, on Thursday evening at Stony Brook Arena. The loss ended Hofstra's eight-game win streak.
Cruz Davis reached 1,000 career points in the contest as he entered the game needing six for the career milestone and reached it in the second half. He scored all 16 of his points after intermission.
Hofstra dropped to 13-5 overall and 4-1 in the CAA with the loss. Stony Brook improved to 10-9 and 2-4 in league play.
Victory Onuetu pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds for the Pride, while
German Plotnikov added 12 points and
A.J. Wills added a season-high 10 points in 32 minutes of action.
Richard Goode had 20 points, eight rebounds, and six assists for Stony Brook, which also got 20 points from Andrej Shoshkikj.
