Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Head Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track Coach Vincent Giambanco announced today a group of three that will serve as captains for the Pride during the 2025-26 season.

Graduate student Tori Bien, senior Abraham Longosiwa, and sophomore Saralyn Frederick will lead the Pride this season.

"These three have embodied all the principles we emphasize in our program—hard work, discipline, passion for the sport, harambee, positivity, and competitiveness," said Giambanco. "We have a tremendous group of student athletes and I look forward to working with this group in the pursuit of excellence."

Bien, a native of Hollywood, Florida, is in her second season as a member of the cross country and track program after playing on the women's golf team during her undergraduate career at Hofstra. She holds the 400m program record at 1:06.89 and ranks third in program history in the 800m.

Longosiwa, from Eldoret, Kenya, was named the Coastal Athletic Association Men's Outstanding Performer at the conference Track & Field championships for his first place performances in the 10,000m and 5,000m races last season. He also earned NCAA All-Region honors with his ninth-place finish at the Cross Country Northeast Regional with a personal best time of 30:10.16 in the 10K.

Frederick, a native of Lebanon, New Jersey, concluded her rookie season at Hofstra with personal best times of 18:28.39 in the 5000m and a 6K time of 23:45.3.
