Stedile Reaches Another Milestone As Pride Goes The Distance Again

Charleston, SC - Izadora Stedile remarkably achieved another career milestone on Saturday as she tallied the 1,000th dig of her spectacular career in Hofstra's five-set loss to Charleston at TD Arena. Stedile, who notched the 1,000th kill of her career on Friday, becomes only the seventh player in program history to have at least 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in their respective careers. Stedile had 17 kills and 15 digs in today's contest with her milestone dig occurring in the first set. 

Hofstra was led in the match by Beatriz Braga, who had 19 kills and nine digs. Nina Jioshvili-Ravva had a season-best 49 assists and added 13 digs in the contest. 

Stedile joins a list in the 1,000/1,000 club that includes Lena Malinowski, Jen Furlow, Stefanie Rewitz, Christine Moore, Tessa Sphar, and Kelsie Wills. 

Hofstra dropped to 9-2 and 2-2 in CAA play with the loss. Charleston improved to 8-6 and 2-2 in conference action.

Constanza Perez Sain contributed 11 kills, five digs, and three blocks in the match, while Valentina Lopez Moya had a season-high 10 kills and four blocks. Nil Kayaalp led the Pride with 22 digs. 

Jumana Martin had 28 digs and six assists for Charleston, while Izzy Marinelli tallied 19 kills and Caroline Noonan had 16. 

Hofstra returns home next weekend when it will host Elon on Saturday and Sunday. Both matches will begin at 2 p.m. Hofstra will celebrate Alumnae Day on Saturday. 

NOTES
- Stedile now has a team-high seven double-doubles this season, while Jioshvili-Ravva has six. 
- Kayaalp had 20 or more digs for the second time this season.
- Hofstra trails Charleston, 16-12, in the all-time series.
