Hempstead, NY – After going 1-1 in her first week of collegiate field hockey action,
Luci Hollister has been named the Rookie of the Week by the Coastal Athletic Association, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
A first-year goalkeeper from Auckland, New Zealand, Hollister started both of Hofstra's season-opening contests against #18 UAlbany and Sacred Heart. Against the Pioneers on Sunday, Hollister made five saves and kept a shutout for her first college win, as the Pride defeated Sacred Heart 2-0. Against the nationally-ranked Great Danes on Friday, Hollister recorded two saves in a one-goal defeat.
In total, Hollister made seven saves in two games with a .700 save percentage and a goals-against average of 1.50 in two games.
Hollister and the Pride return to action on Friday, September 5, with a 4 p.m. home contest against Rider.
