Second Half Goal Lifts Binghamton Over Hofstra

Vestal, NY - A second half goal by Binghamton was the only score of the game as the Bearcats posted a 1-0 victory over Hofstra Sunday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Hofstra slipped to 1-2-0 with the loss, while Binghamton improved to 2-2-0 with its second consecutive victory. 

Calvin Moe scored off a Ryan Gillon free kick in the 73rd minute, heading in a pass to the left side far post for his first goal of the season. Daniel Shannon made six saves for the Bearcats for his first shutout of the season. 

The Pride outshot the Bearcats, 16-9, and each team took four corner kicks. Daniel Burko led Hofstra with four shots and put two on goal. Sean Bohan had one save in goal. 

Hofstra will be back in action Saturday, September 6 at Northeastern in the CAA opener. 

Notes:
-Hofstra is 6-2-1 all-time versus Binghamton.
-The Pride had a three-game win streak in the series snapped. 
-This was the first game since the 2024 season opener against Fordham (0-0 T) that Hofstra did not score a goal (23 games).
