Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's tennis team continued its outstanding scholarly achievements as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its 2025 Division I Men's ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams. The Pride placed seven student-athletes on the Scholar-Athlete Team and was also selected as an All-Academic Team. In all, 994 Division I Men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 159 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
Earning ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades were:
Noa Forste-Dinell,Â
Enaut Garcia,
Matthew Garcia,
Hideki Matsuoka,
Kaita Odani,
Josh Reynolds, and
Vincent Turina.
Matthew Garcia, Odani, Reynolds, and Turina each earned their fourth ITA Scholar-Athlete honor, while Matsuoka is now a three-time selection. Forste-Dinell and Enaut Garcia picked up their first scholar-athlete nod.Â
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
- Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
- Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
Hofstra posted a 3.86 grade point average for the academic year and earned a CAA Team Academic Excellence Award for having the highest GPA among all CAA men's tennis programs.
