Hempstead, NY - Hofstra opened its fall season with a 6-1 loss to visiting Queens College Friday at the Hofstra University Tennis Courts. Amir Albeg earned a win at singles for the Pride, while the doubles team of Jacob Maravillas and Matias Lofink picked up a win as well.

The Knights won the doubles point with 6-1 victories at the third and second flights, but Maravallis and Lofink posted a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles over Samuel Linck and Petr Hruska to close out the first part of the match.

Queens won the first three completed singles flights (6, 5, 2) to clinch the match before Albeg defeated Caleb Brightman at the No. 4 flight, 7-6 (3), 6-3. 

Hofstra is back in action next weekend when it hosts the Hofstra Invitational.
