Poughkeepsie, NY - The Hofstra women's outdoor track and field team had a very successful day in Poughkeepsie, New York, at the Vassar Spring Invite with multiple athletes recording personal records and breaking program records on Saturday. The Pride set a new program record in the 4x400m relay race to finish second with the time of 4:40.71 and
Sharyn-Nicole Thomas broke the shot put program record with her mark of 9.77m to place fourth. Thomas broke the record she had previously set at the Stony Brook Snowflake Classic with her 9.77m mark.
Adanya Collins finished 14th in the shot put with a mark of 5.38m.
Isabella Gerena led the Pride finishers with her third place finish for her 3000m steeplechase time of 11:50.56. In the 5000m race,
Allison Reid finished fourth at 18:26.86, while
Jackalynn Orellana was fifth at 18:40.95.
Avery Brawner came in 11th place in the 5000m at 19:25.70 and
Samantha Szabo was 12th at 19:41.99.
Julia Wachsmuth recorded a collegiate personal record time of 18.09 in the 100m hurdles to place 7th.
Tori Bien led the Pride in the 800m race with her 7th place finish at 2:28.30.
Julia Mills came in 12th at 2:36.97,
Jordan Slovensky in 21st at 2:53.84, and
Eva Mathew in 22nd at 2:53.87.
Natalie Campisi earned a tenth place finish in the 1500m race with her time of 5:04.37, while
Shavari Maharaj came in 22nd place at 6:14.67. In the 200m race,
Lilian Brine placed 16th at 29.47, while
Lauren Galler was 23rd at 32.70 and
Alexandra Arciniega was 24th at 36.60. Arciniega came in 17th place in the 100m with her time of 15.69.
The Pride are back in action on Thursday, May 8, for the West Point Twilight in West Point, New York.
