North Carolina scored the game's first three goals before Parkes got the Pride on the board at the 8:33 mark of the first quarter. The Tar Heels would score the game's next 10 goals to break open the contest.

The Pride did score three of the final five goals in the second quarter, including a pair from Rory Jones, to cut into the deficit.
