Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra women's outdoor track and field team had a successful day as Hofstra hosted Long Island University for the 2025 Hofstra Invitational from the Kellenberg Memorial High School track on Friday morning. Hofstra runners won four out of five events at the meet. The Pride honored four seniors prior to the start of the invitational including
Alexandra Arciniega,
Jackalynn Orellana,
Lauren Galler, and
Sarah Purschke.
Allison Reid took first place in the 1500m race with her personal best time of 4:54.54.
Jackalynn Orellana came in second at 4:57.95,
Natalie Campisi was third at 5:10.11,
Tori Bien was fourth at 5:12.19,
Avery Brawner was fifth at 5:27.66, and
Shavari Maharaj at 5:54.20.
Julia Mills led Hofstra in the 800m race to place third with a time of 2:44.47, while
Eva Mathew came in fourth at 2:48.18 and
Jordan Slovensky was fifth at 2:55.11.
Alexandra Arciniega took first place in the 100m dash with a time 16.00, while
Sharyn-Nicole Thomas was second at 17.60 and
Sarah Purschke was third at 17.60.
Julia Wachsmuth was the lone competitor in the 400m race, which she recorded a time of 1:08.47. In the 200m race,
Lilian Brine came in first place with a time of 28.33 and
Lauren Galler was third at 29.76.
The Hofstra women's outdoor track and field team will be back in action on Friday, April 4, for the Metropolitan Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
