Sharyn-Nicole Thomas of the Hofstra women's outdoor track & field team set a new program record in the shot put event on Saturday with her mark of 9.65m, taking second place in the event. She broke the record she previously set at the Metropolitan Indoor Track & Field Championships in January with her 9.65m mark at the Stony Brook Snowflake Classic.
Thomas led the Pride at the Stony Brook Snowflake Classic on Saturday with her second place finish and program record setting mark.
Sarah Purschke placed third in the shot put event with a mark of 8.72m, while
Adanya Collins came in 7th place with a mark of 5.67m.
Julia Wachsmuth earned second place finishes in both the 100m and 400m hurdles events. Wachsmuth finished in 19.00 in the 100m hurdles and in 1:18.04 in the 400m hurdles.
Lilian Brine earned a third place finish in the 100m dash with her time of 14.52, while
Lauren Galler came in 5th at 15.29, and
Alexandra Arciniega was 6th at 15.80. In the 800m run,
Tori Bien led Hofstra with a fourth place finish and time of 2:27.59.
Julia Mills came in 6th at 2:35.37,
Eva Mathew in 7th at 2:49.75, and
Jordan Slovensky in 8th at 2:51.49.
Natalie Campisi led the Pride in the mile race with her time of 5:38.22 to take 6th place, while
Avery Brawner came in 8th at 5:57.81.
The Hofstra women's outdoor track & field team will be back in action on Thursday, March 27, for the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, North Carolina.
