Stony Brook, NY - The Hofstra men's track and field team opened their outdoor season at the Stony Brook Snowflake Classic on Saturday in Stony Brook, New York. Freshman
Zachary Daudelin set a new program record in the shot put event with his mark of 11.02m, beating
James Watterson's previous record mark of 9.68m that was set at the Metropolitan Indoor Championships in January.
In the shot put event, Daudelin came in first place with his mark of 11.02m, while Watterson recorded a mark of 9.16m to take fifth place, and
Philip Park was 6th with a mark of 9m. The Hofstra men competed in the 4x100m relay and took fourth place with a time of 55.53. In the 400m dash event,
Sameer Grewal led the Pride in 4th place with a time of 52.11.
Alec Padron was next in 6th at 53.60, while
Cade Jaipaul was 14th at 56.93.
Adam Gordon led Hofstra in the 100m dash event with a time of 12.00 to take 6th place, while
Steiger Devil came in 9th at 12.15, and
Greg Franzetti was 15th at 13.45.
Hofstra will be back in action on Thursday, March 27, for the Raleigh Relays.
