Hofstra Women Break Program Record In Distance Medley Relay At CAA Championship

Virginia Beach, VA - The Hofstra women's indoor track & field team broke the program record in the distance medley relay with a time of 12:56.22 on the first day of the Coastal Athletic Association Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship. 

Allison Reid, Tori Bien, Isabella Gerena, and Jackalynn Orellana beat the program record time of 13:10.74 in the distance medley relay, which was set last year at the 2024 CAA Indoor Track & Field Championship. Northeastern took first place in the DMR race with a time of 11:45.34.

In the 5000m race, Saralyn Frederick finished with a time of 19:13.71 to take 18th place. Hampton's Peninah Mutisya led the eighteen runners with a first place finish in 15:45.87, while breaking the conference and meet records. 

Elon leads the team competition with 48.5 points, while Northeastern sits behind them with 46.5 points going into the second day of the CAA Championship. William & Mary, Hampton, and North Carolina A&T make up the rest of the top five teams, while Hofstra is not ranked.

The Pride are set to open their outdoor track and field season on March 15 with the Stony Brook Snowflake Invitational.
