Hempstead, NY – The 2025 season of Hofstra softball officially begins on Friday, February 14, with the Pride crossing timezones to play at the Getterman Classic in Waco, Texas, where the Pride will face two nationally-ranked opponents.

Hofstra enters the season after finishing as one of the four remaining teams at the 2024 CAA Championship, losing in extra innings to Campbell.
Olivia Malinowski and
Gabby Sultan were named Preseason All-CAA and CAA Honorable Mention All-CAA, respectively. Malinowski started all 49 games last season as either the designated player or the catcher, and she finished third on the team with 40 hits while tallying a .267 batting average and 21 RBIs. Meanwhile, Sultan tallied a .240 average in 25 pinch-hit at-bats with six hits, a double, and a home run, plus 10 runs batted in.
Ranked third in the country in the latest NFCA/GoRout and ESPN/USA Today national polls, four-time reigning national champion Oklahoma is 6-0 on the year. Meanwhile, Baylor, ranked #23 in the NFCA/GoRout poll and #24 in the latest ESPN/USA Today rankings, is 3-2 entering the Getterman Classic on home soil. Hofstra is 1-2 all-time against Oklahoma and 1-1 all-time versus Baylor.
