Hofstra Returns Home to Face Fordham

Hempstead, NY – After a week in sunny Puerto Rico, the Hofstra women's basketball team is back on the familiar court of the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex for a non-conference clash against Fordham on Saturday, December 6.
 
Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. against the Rams. Saturday's game will air on MSG2 as well as on FloCollege, and WRHU will provide an audio-only broadcast on the HAWC. The Pride suffered defeats to #7 Maryland and East Carolina at the Discover Puerto Rico Shootout in Carolina, Puerto Rico. Alarice Gooden averaged 8.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in both contests against the Terrapins and the Pirates, while Sana'a Garrett averaged 5.0 points and 1.5 assists per game, and Carter finished with averages of 5.5 points and 2.5 rebounds.
 
Fordham stands at 6-4 following a defeat to George Mason on Wednesday. Alexis Black leads all players on the roster with 20.9 points per game, and Ornella Niankan paces the Rams with 6.5 rebounds per contest.
 
Hofstra and Fordham have met 19 times previously, with the Rams holding an 11-8 all-time lead over the Pride. The programs last faced one another on December 18, 2020, at Fordham, a 72-58 win for the Rams.
