Davis Repeats As CAA Player Of The Week After Leading Pride To Another ACC Road Win

| By:
Hempstead, NY - For the second time in a week, Hofstra junior guard Cruz Davis led the Pride to a road win over an ACC team. And for the second consecutive week, he was named the CAA Player of the Week.

Davis shared the award with Erik Platt of Stony Brook.

It was another spectacular week for Davis as he led the Pride to a pair of wins, including the program's second win over an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent in under a week.

Davis averaged 18.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game in the wins.

On Wednesday, he played just over 20 minutes in a home win over SUNY Old Westbury and contributed 15 points, three rebounds, and three assists in the 92-23 victory.

Davis was the best player on the court once again against an ACC opponent on Saturday as he masterminded a thrilling 70-69 road win over Syracuse just six days after a career day in a win over Pitt last Sunday. Against the Orange, Davis had a game-high 22 points, a career-high nine assists, and played all 40 minutes in the historic win for the Pride. He shot 57% from the field in the game (8-14), was 2-2 from three-point range, and 4-4 from the charity stripe.

Hofstra, which had not beaten an ACC team since 2015 before last week, now has two wins this month against members of the ACC, and Davis has been the star of both contests.

For the week, Davis shot 56.5% from the field (13-23), 50% from three-point range (4-8), and 88% from the free throw line (7-8). He started both games. Davis has scored in double figures in all 12 games this season.
