Reid Finishes Fourth in Mile at Seahawk Shootout

Staten Island, NY – Distance runner Allison Reid notched a top-five finish in the women's Mile as the Hofstra women's indoor track & field team wrapped up the 2025 calendar year at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island on Friday, December 12.
 
In a field of 48 competitors and four sections, Reid placed fourth overall in the event with a time of 5:11.09, besting her previous PR time of 5:15.20 set at the Fastrack National Invite on February 7 of this year. Reid's time in the Mile is the third-fastest in program history, trailing Jordyn McDonnell's time of 5:00.6 at the 2023 Seahawk Shootout and Bella Richards' 5:05.66 time at the 2020 Fastrack Last Chance Invite.
 
A number of other Hofstra runners competed in the Mile, with Isabella Gerena finishing 10th with a PR time of 5:19.59. Meanwhile, Macy Neider placed 13th in a time of 5:28.68, Tori Bien crossed the finish line at 5:30.16 in a 15th-place finish, Hannah Donzella was 17th at 5:32.53, Natalie Campisi ran a personal-best time of 5:32.94 to place 18th, Brielle Isernia came in 23rd at 5:40.86, Sophia Briggs in 27th at 5:50.44, Samantha Szabo in 30th at 5:53.94, and Amanda Hinojos in 36th at 6:02.95.

Lilian Brine recorded a personal best time of 8.40 in the 60m dash to finish 52nd, while Julia Mills and Eva Mathew competed for the Pride in the 1000m race. Mills finished in 12th with a personal best time of 3:20.50 and Mathew in 23rd at 3:39.63. 
 
In the field events, Sharyn-Nicole Thomas placed 13th in the shot put with a throw of 10.78m.
 
The Hofstra women's track & field team will return to action in 2026 for the Dr. Sander Invitational on January 23-24.
