Hempstead, NY - Hofstra women's cross country runner Isabella Spagnoli was named the Coastal Athletic Association Women's Cross Country Co-Rookie of the Year, it was announced by the conference office Thursday afternoon. Spagnoli is the second runner in program history to earn CAA Rookie of the Year accolades, after Mary Sullivan earned the recognition in 2005.

A freshman from New Hyde Park, New York, Spagnoli posted a time of 21:01.4 to earn All-CAA honors with her fifth place finish at the CAA Cross Country Championship. It was the best finish for a Hofstra runner at the event since 2005. She claimed the individual title at the Metropolitan Cross Country Championship with the second-fastest 5K time in program history of 17:15, and concluded her season with a 63rd-place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship.
