Pride Heads to NYC for Local Showdown at Columbia

12/1/2025 8:25:00 AM

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's basketball team will make the short trek into New York City on Wednesday when the Pride battles Columbia.

Tip-off from Schiller Court at Levien Gymnasium is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The game will air on SNY and ESPN+ and WRHU will have an audio-only broadcast available on 88.7 FM and WRHU.org. Links to the broadcasts, as well as the live statistics, can be found on this page and on the men's basketball schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

Winners of three straight and five of its last six, Hofstra is coming off a strong trip to Philadelphia as the Pride won all three games at the Cathedral Classic. The final win was a dominating 77-60 win over the host, Penn, on Sunday. Cruz Davis had 18 points and five assists in the game, while Preston Edmead tallied 11 points, eight assists, and six rebounds.

Columbia is an impressive 7-1 to start the season with its lone loss to nationally-ranked Connecticut. The Lions, who have won five straight games, are coming off a 92-44 win over Sarah Lawrence on Saturday. Kenny Noland and Gerard O'keefe each had 14 points in the victory.

Wednesday will be the 14th all-time meeting between Hofstra and Columbia with the Pride leading the series, 11-2. This will be the first meeting between the teams since a narrow two-point, 88-86, Hofstra win during the 2016-17 campaign. The first-ever meeting was a 43-40 Pride win in the third game of the 1937-38 season. That was Hofstra's second-ever season of men's basketball.
