New Rochelle, NY - Freshman
Preston Edmead had another outstanding game with 18 points and six assists in the Pride's 81-73 loss to Iona on Friday evening at the Hynes Athletics Center.
The loss dropped Hofstra to 0-2 this season, while Iona won its season opener.

The Pride came out fighting in the second stanza and a basket from
Silas Sunday brought Hofstra to within 10, 46-36. The run was 9-2 in favor of the Pride.
A three-pointer from
Biggie Patterson at the 13:52 mark got the deficit in single digits at 50-41.
Iona would score seven straight to push the lead back to 16 and end any hopes of a Pride comeback. The final minute of the game did see Hofstra make it a six-point game before the Gaels settled in for the eight-point victory.
Patterson tallied 16 points in the game, while
