Two-For-Two; Edmead Captures CAA Award Again

| By:
Hempstead, NY - Hofstra freshman guard Preston Edmead picked up his second CAA award in as many weeks as he was once again named the CAA Rookie of the Week, it was announced this afternoon by the conference office. Edmead has won the first two CAA rookie awards given out this season.

Edmead was outstanding once again for the Pride as he helped the team to a 2-0 week.

Edmead averaged 17.5 points, 5.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game in the wins over Molloy and Bucknell.

Against Molloy, he had 12 points, six assists, and two steals in limited minutes (28).

Edmead would follow that up with a spectacular game on Friday as he posted his first career 20-point game with 23 points, five assists, and two steals in the road win over the Bison. He scored 18 of his points in the second half to lead the comeback from double digits. Edmead is the first Hofstra true freshman to score 20 or more points in a game since Eli Pemberton on January 19, 2017 and he is one of only five freshmen nationally to be averaging at least 17 points and five assists per game.

For the week he hit six three-pointers as well and shot 11-14 from the free throw line, while starting both games and averaging 33 minutes per game.
