Pride Closes Regular Season With 21st Victory

Boston, MA - Izadora Stedile had a stellar match with 20 kills and 19 digs to lead the Hofstra volleyball team to a four-set win over Northeastern in the regular season finale for the Pride on Saturday afternoon at Cabot Gymnasium. 

Beatriz Braga added 15 kills and 11 digs for Hofstra. Nina Jioshvili-Ravva had 35 assists, 11 digs, and three blocks. 

The Pride finished the regular season with an incredible 21-3 overall record and a CAA mark of 13-3. Northeastern closed its campaign with a 9-16 and 5-11 record. Set scores were 28-26, 19-25, 25-19, and 25-11. 

Hofstra narrowly won a tight first set before Northeastern knotted the match with a victory in the second stanza. In the third set, Hofstra used a 7-1 scoring run to take a 16-10 lead en route to the win and the lead in the match. In the final set, the Pride jumped out to an 11-3 lead and never looked back in dominating the set and earning the match victory. 

Nil Kayaalp posted 19 digs in the contest, while Costanza Perez Sain chipped in with 11 kills, four blocks, and three digs. Julia Amorim and Lilia Duczek each had five blocks. 

Emma Rowell led Northeastern with 13 kills, while Svenja Rodenbuesch added 12 kills and 13 digs. 

The full CAA Championship bracket will be announced later this weekend. 

NOTES
- Hofstra won its fourth straight against Northeastern and improved to 53-18 all-time in the series. 
- The double-double was Stedile's team-leading 16th, Jioshvili-Ravva's ninth, and Braga's sixth. 
- Clara Bal, who had seven kills in the match, enters the CAA Championship needing seven kills for 1,000 for her career.
