Hofstra Heads To Stony Brook Thursday For CAA Quarterfinals

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University women's soccer team, seeded third in the CAA North Division, heads to No. 2 Stony Brook Thursday night for a quarterfinal matchup in the 2025 CAA Championship. Kickoff from LaValle Stadium is set for 2 p.m. following a time change due to predicted weather conditions later in the day Thursday. 

The game will be streamed live on FloCollege with live statistics also provided. A live audio broadcast will also be available courtesy of WRHU-FM (88.7) and will be streamed on the HAWC. Links for all can be found above or on the women's soccer schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

The Pride (6-4-7) are making their ninth consecutive and 22nd overall CAA Championship appearance. Hofstra clinched a berth with a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Seawolves this past Sunday. The Pride went up, 2-0, before Stony Brook tied the game in the second half. Olivia Pearse then delivered the game-winning goal with just under 12 minutes to play, sending in a long-distance strike. Hofstra is 24-13-3 all-time in CAA Championship play and has won eight conference titles, the last in 2022. 

Stony Brook enters the match with a 10-6-1 record. The Seawolves are the defending CAA champions and are led by former Hofstra assistant coach Tobi Bischof, who is in his seventh season at the helm. 

Hofstra is 16-4-1 all-time against Stony Brook. 

The winner of Thursday's contest advances to take on the top seed in the North Division, Monmouth, Sunday at 1 p.m.
