Delmar, NY - The Hofstra women's golf team sit tied for eighth place following the first round of play in the UAlbany Great Danes Invitational from Normanside Country Club in Delmar, New York. The Pride are in a three-way tie for eighth with Merrimack and Holy Cross following a first round team score of 315 (+35).
Kaylie Porter leads Hofstra tied for 20th at 76 (+6), while
Sadie Anderson shot a first round 79 (+9) to tie for 35th place.
Mari Rodriguez and
Regina Cantu Chavez are both tied for 42nd place out of the 79-player field following a first round 80 (+10).
Ava Sparacio, who is competing as an individual, shot a first round 86 (+16) to tie for 67th.
Natalie Moody sits in 75th place at 94 (+23) heading into the final round of play.
Kelly Wu of St. John's is the individual leader with a first round 67 (-3) while Boston College leads the teams at 286 (+6). The Great Danes sit in second with St. John's, FDU, and Seton Hall rounding out the top-five teams.
The second and final round of play gets underway at 8:15 a.m. Monday morning from the Normanside Country Club.Â
