Hofstra Hosts Towson Sunday On Alumnae Day

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University women's soccer team returns to action Sunday when it hosts defending Coastal Athletic Association champion Towson at Captains Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. The game will serve as Hofstra's Alumnae Day and will also feature the dedication of Captains Field at halftime. 

Sunday's game will be streamed live on FloFC with live statistics and an audio only broadcast also available. Links for all can be found above or on the women's soccer schedule page on GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra enters the contest with a 3-2-4 record overall and a 1-1-0 mark in CAA action. The Pride dropped their last contest, 2-1, at Delaware on Sept. 22 after opening league play with a 2-1 win over Charleston on Sept. 19. 

Towson, which won the 2023 CAA Championship, is 2-3-6 overall and 0-1-1 in the CAA. The Tigers dropped their CAA opener to Drexel, 1-0, on Sept, 19 and played Northeastern to a 2-2 draw on Sept. 26. Towson has five draws in its last six games (0-5-1). 

Hofstra is 18-4-1 all-time against Towson. The Tigers did win last season at home, 2-0. Hofstra had won 11 meetings in a row before that. 

Following Sunday's game, Hofstra will play at Drexel on Thursday, October 3 before returning home to face Stony Brook on October 6.
