Hofstra Suffers Road Loss

Staten Island, NY – The Hofstra field hockey team dropped a 4-0 contest on the road to Wagner from the Wagner Field Hockey Complex in Staten Island, New York.
 
Hofstra is now 2-5 on the year, and Wagner improves to 4-3 following its win.
 
The Pride kept the Seahawks scoreless in the first quarter, but the home side broke the deadlock with 5:17 remaining before halftime. Wagner cashed in on an a penalty corner two minutes into the third quarter, and they would score again inside the final two minutes to put the score at 3-0 after three quarters. Wagner's final goal of the afternoon came three minutes into the start of the fourth quarter.
 
Pieke Roos made nine saves against the Seahawks.
 
The Pride resumes its CAA schedule on Friday, September 27, with a trip to Delaware. Friday's game against the Fightin' Blue Hens will begin at 4 p.m.
 
NOTES:
-Wagner outshot Hofstra 19-8 and held a 10-5 advantage in penalty corners. Tara McNally led the Pride with three total shots.
-Hofstra's all-time record is now 8-4 against Wagner.
