Pride Makes Statement On Opening Night; Sweeps Wake Forest

Winston-Salem, NC - Izadora Stedile had nine kills and a match-high 17 digs, while Clara Bal added nine kills and 10 digs to lead the Hofstra volleyball team to a three-set sweep of Wake Forest on Friday evening at Varsity Arena.

It is the Pride's first win over a current member of the ACC since defeating Syracuse on September 9, 2016.

Set scores were 25-21, 25-23, and 25-23. The Pride used a 4-0 run to close the third set and put the finishing touches on the sweep.

The Pride's defense was stellar throughout, as Hofstra held Wake Forest to a .057 hitting percentage in the first set and closed the match by holding the home team below .200 (.170) in the third and final stanza.
