Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University women's soccer team opens its home schedule Friday with a 2 p.m. matchup against Columbia at Hofstra Soccer Stadium. The Pride (0-0-1) will be looking for its first win of the season, while the Lions are making their season debut. The game will be streamed live on FloFC with live statistics also provided. Links for both can be found above or on the women's soccer schedule page of GoHofstra.com.

Hofstra is coming off a 1-1 draw at Quinnipiac last Thursday. Millie Davies scored a late goal off a pass from Thorhildur Thorhallsdottir to tie the game. Goalkeeper Synne Danielsen made one save in her collegiate debut. The Pride held an 11-4 shot advantage in the game but Bobcats keeper Sofia Lospinoso tallied six saves.

Columbia was 11-5-3 in 2023 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship. Hofstra holds a 10-6-2 overall record against the Lions, but has lost two consecutive games including a 3-0 loss at Columbia last season.

Hofstra will have a short turnaround following the game as the team will host Yale Sunday (August 25) at 3:30 p.m. The start time has been pushed back from its original 1 p.m. kickoff.
