Jordyn McDonnell set a new program record with a second place finish and time of 10:20.87 in the 3000m steeplechase during the first day of the Coastal Athletic Association Outdoor Track & Field Championship, hosted by Elon University.
McDonnell broke the program record by 8 seconds, which she had previously set at the 2023 CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship. McDonnell's time put her in a qualifying position for the NCAA tournament. Hofstra runner
Allison Reid also competed for the Pride Friday and finished the 1500m preliminaries with a time of 5:02.09.
As a team, the Pride are tied with local rival Stony Brook with 8 points. Northeastern is the top team with 47, while hosts Elon have 41 points after day one of the CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
Hofstra closed out the second day of the CAA Championship in 13th place with 8 points.
